Fueller News Update
RFA Wave Knight Update
Captain Chris Clarke of RFA Wave Knight has passed festive greetings to the Company with the following message.
“Just to let you know – the cunning plan to keep your ship on the South Coast supporting the FOST sea-training organisation for the immediate future has been blown asunder. The ship has very recently received new orders to sail on deployment 5 months earlier than planned – so once again I am afraid that Wave Knight’s time in the UK has been reduced to the bare minimum and we are away first thing in the New Year. As such our perceived opportunities to get some new Fuelling faces down on board has hereby been scuppered certainly for the entirety of 2013 – maybe longer.
“Captain Ross Ferris will be assuming Command as of 1st January and I shall be returning late May for another 6 month stint as the ‘owner CO’. I continue to be very grateful of our close association albeit constantly embarrassed that we never seem to be in the UK to set up a worthwhile and enjoyable visit. I attach a photograph of a recent fuelling replenishment in the North Atlantic with HMS Westminster – just to prove that we have been working a little of late at least.”
While we are understandably disappointed not to have the opportunity to meet and greet with the ship and her officers and crew in the short term, we wish them Fair Winds and Following Seas on their new deployment.
