Fuellers

Charles Stephenson Prize at City University

Congratulations to Jack Hailstone, winner of this year's Charles Stephenson Clarke Prize at City University.

The annual award, judged by a panel composed of Fuellers and Trustees of the FCTF, is given to the best dissertation arising from the City University MSc in Energy & Environmental Technology & Economics program. It is named after our first Master.

Jack’s project assessed the reliability of energy performance certificates when electric heating technologies can engage in demand side response, coming out on-top from a diverse range of projects including the life cycle of lithium batteries, blue hydrogen and use of heat pumps in residential buildings. The judges were especially taken by Jack’s ability to communicate a complex topic clearly and succinctly. Jack and other candidates are looking ahead to careers in energy.

Taking part in judging student competitions provides a glimpse into the subjects that universities are exploring whilst providing a chance to support the community of new energy professionals.
