A small group of Fuellers attended King's College London Net Zero Centre's Annual Event on Monday 9 February.
Launched in April 2023, the Net Zero Centre at King's College London has made significant strides in advancing research and fostering collaborations around solutions to decarbonising society.
Four themes were presented by King's researchers in this morning event:
- Materials for Net Zero
- Systems for Net Zero
- Manufacturing for Net Zero
- Carbon Markets

ABOUT THE NET ZERO CENTRE
The Net Zero Centre at King's is dedicated to addressing the challenges of decarbonising our society and reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing, infrastructure, and cities. It serves as hub for scientific, technological and engineering research geared towards this challenge.
Based in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences (NMES), the Centre connects the departments of chemistry, engineering, informatics, mathematics, and physics. We catalyse links across King’s from geography and business to law, social science, and health to deliver innovative solutions for sustainable, healthy development, and environments.
Each theme was introduced by the Professor in charge, and followed by short presentations by their Ph.D students or post doctoral researchers. We heard about 15 presentations, many of which showed how far ahead are Kings College in the advancement of materials and manufacturing of new non zero products.
For The Fuellers group who attended , the most striking developments were in nanotechnology for sensors, perovskites for high performance multi-junction solar cells and the biocatalytic recycling of polyurethane
