The Fuellers had a very interesting visit to the Drax Power Station, which is now entirely fuelled by wood pellets imported from the southern USA. We were treated to a series of presentations and a visit to all the key elements of the plant, including the new bio storage, the modified boilers, the transportation system to handle the new fuel, and the fully digitised control room. A fuller explanation is to follow, but a few images from the visit are given below including the planned North Sea storage arrangements and the new storage facilities for No. 4 unit.
