The Fuellers attended the ceremonies at Guildhall on 24 June 2022. The main order of the day was to attend the Common Hall Election of the Sheriffs and other Officers for the next year. The two successful Sheriffs were Andrew Marsden as Non Aldermanic Sheriff and Alderman Alastair King DL as Sheriff. They will both support the Lord Mayor during his year.

Peter Harrison, Senior Warden was part of the procession of the Livery Companies in front of what felt like a full house of City Liveryman. This level of support was especially impressive given the disruption to trains in this challenging week of strikes.

Before the procession the Senior Warden attended an excellent breakfast in the Guildhall club. This was also the venue for a lunch following the proceedings. Attending the lunch was a number of Livery Companies and a small select group of Fuellers, including the Clerk Alex Maclean Bather and  Past Masters Janet Harrison and Shravan Joshi. It was a great opportunity to mingle and promote the Fuellers with other livery companies and Liveryman.

Following the lunch it was a privilege for us to be invited to the Armed Forces Flag Day Raising ceremony in the Guildhall Yard. This was a magnificent and colourful event with representatives from all armed forces and an excellent RAF band. The Mayor attended while the joint armed forces flag was raised high over Guildhall.
