A big thank you to Stephen Wheatley and his team who welcomed the Fuellers to the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station on the Thames for what was an incredible and educational visit.
The Tower Station is the busiest in the UK and has participated in 11,700 shouts since 2002 saving 530 lives. In a busy urban city it is easy to forget just how important the Thames is and also how dangerous it can be.
It costs £190 million per year to fund the RNLI’s operations, £650,000 for the Tower Station and every penny is raised from donations and partnerships.
The Fuellers Charitable Trust has been supporting them for over 20 years contributing towards the fuel that keeps the lifeboat running. Past Masters Doug Barrow and Chloe Andrews-Jones presented the first cheque to them in September 2004 and Chloe was there to present this years donation to the team.
